Masks, 2016
03:00 min
The artist uses the camera as a mirror in an attempt to recreate the French mime artist Marcel Marceau’s ‘masks’ performance. The artist lazily attempts to recreate the exaggerated gestures of the mime, which stand in substitute for any real conveyance of emotion to the camera. This piece is part of a larger series of performances exploring the role of the artist.
