Rachel Garfield's video work draws on traditions of personal cinema and experimental film. Focusing on the lived relationships between people and structures, forms  and textures of video are explored through different generations of camera and media. As such, the work is a rich, multi-layered enjoyment of the visual. The work combines montaging techniques with first person testimony utilising fractured rhythms of editing, hand-held and fixed shots, focus and blur.
