and Philip Loukas.

How do you describe work you haven't made yet for a show that will only be curated once the work is made? How do you design a poster, write a press release, for an exhibition of eight artists without common ground or shared concepts? How do you share such a small space between so many people? Will the works be not only separate but also disparate? Will the show come together in the end? Will unintended connections form between the works to create an exhibition that hums with united intensity, or will everything simply discombobulate?

Omg Energy!
Ridley Road Market: Pineapples! Plantains! Lemons! Apples! Carrots! Tomatoes! Peppers! Onions! Pots! Pans! Hand bags! Towels! Bedding! Phones! Jewellery! Fish! Cow feet! Intestines! Liver! Boiling chicken? …
I see so many colours! They are vibrant, unashamed and joyful!  Lets make a smoothie! Omg I can do anything! I feel energised!

Holly Alfonso
Hi, Holly. are you enjoying being a reigning Greatest British Babe?
I have to say I’ve been having the best year of my life.
Each sexy shoot is a chance for me to reminisce about winning, and I’m really grateful the readers voted for me.
The shoots are so much fun: you get to hang around with lots of awesome people whose job is to make you look sexy. What’s not to like?
I now hang around in my own flat dressed like this!

Nathan Baumber
Through making art, Nathan has developed an unrivalled ability to write in third person about his work. He has assiduously applied himself to creating convoluted statements about his practice. Nathan uses his own verbosity to compensate for the work ’s complete inability to say anything. He has become largely dependent on a piece of paper to make sure his work is accurately read due to the illiteracy of his own creativity.

Aimee Sawicki
Recent graduate from Slade School of Fine Art for MFA in painting.  My practice explores the strange nature of objects, and how the application of various materials to form a sort of aggregate, can either animate a form or render it static.  Through undermining the qualities of more robust or appreciated materials along with glorifying those considered more of ephemera, I try to play with the speed in which one visually absorbs and acknowledges an object that is in competition with others around it.

Harry Martin
who drew my outline?
this is not my shape but I
can’t find my way back
/
back to nothingness,
the empty ache of knowing
I am not myself.
/
I can’t fill this space.
there are places of darkness;
they are become me.
/
I find myself here,
tread soft in my own shadow,
always changing shape.
/
look for a sign, an
equinox between this and
swallowing the fire.
/
I am running out
of things I can sacrifice
to bring the light back.
/
I take up astral
projection, find my home far
from my own body.

Rosa Farber's work addresses a constant struggle of authority (having it - not having it). There is a relationship between artworks and the events that occur around their making.

Helen Savage uses the potentiality of text to guide the viewer. Narrative, contrast and materiality are explored subtly surrounding everyday themes that reverberate in the practice of being an artist.
