Introducing the first in the series of The Empty Gallery Interviews: A live conversation piece in which art writers Claire Nichols and Altair Roelants will talk with artist S.E Barnet and exhibition curator Michelle Deignan about the upcoming show Does God Live in the No Fly Zone.

This interview will offer an insight into the methodology that informs site specific responses to the Five Years gallery; tracing Barnet and co-authors, The KIT Collaboration's (a collective comprising artists, architects, programmers and writers) evolving relationship to the space in the lead up to installing their work.

The Empty Gallery Interviews make public the anticipatory dialogue that exists between the exhibitor and the exhibiton space. Putting into practice a vocal ordering of the visual, the interview series considers what it might mean to perform or translate the artist's response to the site. The conversations will probe the rituals associated with making, exhibiting and viewing, and will trace a host of site specific approaches within various gallery spaces.
